Need a fun little rainy day project? Or like us a fun quarantine project? As I rack my brain for ideas and things to keep the kiddos occupied, my sister shared with me an idea that involved an outdoor fence and chalk. Well since it is still winter here we need to do most of our activities indoors. So I thought it could be easily done with some paint and a window! It is such an easy project that kept my girls entertained for a couple hours.

Dish Soap
We went for an abstract art look. But whatever you feel like doing go for it! That is the beauty about creating art. We started to just cut random sizes of tape and making shapes. The girls love geometry, so they enjoyed creating octagons, squares, and triangles. Once the window is completely taped it is time to mix the paint. I used numerous colors of acrylic paint we had on hand and mixed it with a drop or two of dish soap. This makes the paint a bit more watery but not enough to where it is dripping everywhere.
The girls painted for a whole hour. It was a blast for them and they were so eager to finish. Once they finished we let the paint sit for some time. After about 30 minutes we came back and started to carefully pull the tape up. The girls were ecstatic at the window art they had created. It gives a stained glass look and if we ever get sunshine we cannot wait to see how the sun shines through it!
While we are in the home for three more weeks, it reminded me that the simple things in life will hold the most impact on our hearts. We will get through this short time and be full of gratitude and love.
