I decided it was time to start Follow Friday! What is that you might ask? Every Friday I will feature a person or shop that I have found on social media and that I have come to love.
About a week ago while searching instagram, I came across a shop that sales sunglasses. I am not a sunglasses person, since I wear glasses but their little bio instantly got me intrigued. The shop is called Subsidy Shades.
This is just not any shop. This shop has a purpose. Has a goal. Has a mission. In 2014, the shop owner Melissa decided to sell sunglasses in order to raise money for their second adoption. Things really took off for her and within months Subsidy Shades had its own gifting suite at the MTV Movie Awards. Through the purchase of sunglasses, they were able to pay for their adoption. Now they continue sharing the love by helping other families make their dreams come true. Adoption is not cheap. Many are willing to take on the financial burden because every child matters and should be in a loving and caring home. This shop believes in helping with that financial burden and supporting families that are wishing to adopt.
I have a soft spot for adoption. Twelve years ago a beautiful baby boy came into our lives because my parents so graciously opened their hearts and minds to the possibility of loving a child that was not their own. They were not looking to adopt. They were just a few years away from being child free. But that is why adoption is love. Adoption is opening your heart up. Adoption is opening up to possibility.
Subsidy Shades has an awesome collection of sunglasses for adults and children. The sunglasses that they offer are UV 400 = 100% UVA and UVB protection, fashionable, and reasonably priced. So why not buy some awesome sunglasses while supporting a beautiful and amazing cause?
I am so thrilled to have found this shop and will be buying the girls some pretty snazzy sunglasses for the summer. Remember the cause and purpose is worth it because adoption is love!
