How to Throw a Unicorn Themed Party

Thank you to Oriental Trading for sponsoring this post. As always the thoughts and opinions are my own.

This year I gave each girl the option of either having a party at home or inviting friends and family to go bowling ( I was hoping for both to pick the latter). Well Madelyn chose a party at home. Usually throwing a party at home causes me great anxiety and stress. The planning, the cleaning, the execution. It all can be so overwhelming.

Well not this year! I wanted to make sure I took all the stress away when it comes to party planning. I was able to order most of what I needed from Oriental Trading. The dinnerware, the decorations, the party hats, and tablecloths all came right to my doorstep. I officially now wonder why I have not done this before! So simple!!

Now the cake I always feel is the statement piece of a party. I like it to wow my family. No unicorn party is complete without a unicorn cake. Since our small town does not have a bakery and I’m not a masterful cake decorator, I had to do some research. I was so happy to find Delightful Sweets on Etsy. Delightful Sweets provides a whole unicorn kit to put on a cake. The horn, lashes, ears, and a box full of beautifully made meringues all at my doorstep. I cannot stress enough how beautiful these pieces were. An added bonus was that the meringues were delicious.

Since we were going to have a large crowd I also decided to make cupcakes. Gold glittery cupcake toppers for the win! I mean what could get better? Oh wait a gold glittery personalized topper makes it better! These beautiful toppers are from Inspired by Alma.

I will add here that this beautiful headband is from Headbands By Habegger. Anyone that knows Madelyn knows that headbands are her thing and if it has ears on it she is super thrilled. This one was so beautifully made and has been worn days after her party.

This was such a fun party to pull together. Madelyn had the best time and could not have been happier with how her party turned out. She got everything she envisioned! Party planning does not have to be so difficult. Give yourself plenty of time and do some research online to find unique and fun things to use for your party! I will be doing the same when I begin planning Finnegan’s first birthday!
